Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or will be graduating from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering within the next six months;
Engineer in Training License is not required when applying but must be obtained within one year of employment;
Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver’s.
Responsibilities
Assist the Engineering Department with project and construction management;
Assist Engineering Program Manager with inspections and daily reports;
Assist Engineering Program Manager with resurfacing program;
Assist Traffic Engineer with Traffic Signal, Street Light Maintenance and Signage as required;
Assist Engineering Department with MS4 Program compliance;
Assist Engineering Department with permit plan reviews, meetings and correspondence;
Assist Engineering Department with Stormwater Management;
Assist Engineering Department with Planning & Zoning reviews and meetings;
Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress;
Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas;
Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;
Communicates and coordinates regularly with the appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;
Performs other related duties consistently as directed.
